HARMON-ROBISON
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Dear High School Seniors in Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne, Randolph, Talladega, and St. Clair Counties,
My name is Walker Fetner, and I'm 14 years old. This fall, I'll be starting my freshman year at White Plains High School in Anniston, Alabama.
I wanted to tell you about something that's really important to me—the Harmon-Robison Memorial Scholarship Fund.
I started this scholarship to honor two Lincoln, Alabama police officers, Allen Lee Harmon and Otis Lee Robison, who were killed in the line of duty on November 16, 1974. I first learned about their story when I found out that my seventh-grade English teacher was Officer Robison's great-nephew. Hearing about their sacrifice inspired me to do something to help keep their memory alive.
Every year, the scholarship will award $500 to a graduating high school senior who plans to continue their education in public safety or healthcare and serve others in their community. My goal is to build the scholarship into a lasting legacy by raising $100,000. So far, thanks to the generosity of so many amazing people, I've raised more than $10,750.
If you're able to make a donation—even $5, $10, or $25—it would mean so much to me and help us get one step closer to that goal. Remember donations are tax deductible. If you're not able to donate, sharing my project with your family, friends, or community would be just as appreciated.
If your school, club, church, or organization would like to learn more about the scholarship, I'd be honored to come speak and share our mission.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for supporting this project to honor two heroes who gave everything in service to others.
Sincerely,
Walker Fetner
